You might be thinking “just at the worst time” the Slop is taking a brief respite in the middle of the summer. But the unfortunate reality is that, all the time is the worst time to not be paying attention to our unfolding events around the world.
With that in mind, dear reader, I leave you with some recommendations on where to keep with the news that doesn’t involve cable news or ill-owned social media sites.
Domestic and International News
I really wanted to cover the reconciliation bill that pass through Congress last week. The unprecedented expansion of ICE funding (comparable and exceeding the militaries of other countries) is alarming as is the gutting of Medicaid (and Medicare) and attacks on people with student loans.
And then we have the ongoing horrors that continue to happen in Gaza and the unsteady situation with Iran.
